Hercules: The Xena Trilogy DVD Detail

Before we begin this... amazing, lucrative, fun journey of watching every single Xena episode in the universe, here are pictures of the trilogy DVD and casing. Just a perfunctory review of the shape of such goodness.

The front. And, yes, that is my shadow in the foreground. I apologize for my body.

The back.

The disc.

Texas Care Package #2 and Updated Calendar

Well, ladies and gentlemenz. My cup doth runneth over and.. I need a bigger one.

As you can see, I'm a bit tardy in posting my Xena reviews.

Though it would seem that I've been lazing away the days high on ecstasy and moonshine, I actually ran into a problem, which forced me to halt production. It was more like an obstacle. I realized that Blogger (or any other free image host, for that matter) is unable to post my review sheets as big as they need to be for you to read them. Meaning, you'd need a magnifying glass or manacle to see everything. I spent the past week doing a looooot of stuff, but most days were spent on the search and acquisition of a domain name and web hosting company, so that I could make my own damn room for reviews.

Though I've completed four Xena reviews already, I made the adult decision to suspend my advancement into the series, until I got the site and images up. That was very hard and the wait has nearly killed me. SO. In summary, I've been silent online, but offline I've been loud with agony. I want to talk about Xena right now, but I won't. Not until I get those reviews up. They're already on the site just as I want them; I just need to write the blogs for each and link them. You're gonna love them, whore.

Because of the review sheet debacle last weekend, I ended up hanging out with Jolisa on Superbowl Sunday. We grabbed coffee with her boyfriend, Gabe, and then went to a sample sale with some girlfriends. I purchased nothing at the sale. I happened to be with the three most fashion-conscious and garment-driven women in New York City, so they, of course, purchased numerous items. Bringin' it back to my level, the clothes were so not my style. I tried on one butt-ugly dress, and that was as far as I could go.

What else happened this week? I actually took on a third job, even though I'm already stretched as thin as can be (I suppose that's a good thing though, because who in their right mind would say 'no' to work right now?;) I've been sick for the past four days; My toilet broke; I received my first legitimate marriage proposal; the superintendent of my apartment complex painted my front door pink; I spent days searching for a good web host (Seriously, have you ever tried to do that? Reviews for those sites are the least reliable I've ever seen;) I ate a shitload of Reeses Piece Peanut Butter Cups; and I wrote a review for the magazine (which I noted on the calendar). I'd say, overall, this past week did not bode well.

Let's get into the boxes my mom sent me last weekend. I present to you the contents of box #1:

Check this shit out.

Oh yeah, baby. That is what I am talking about.

Box #2:

Clothing for my body at work. Some of it, over-sized.

My mother leaves no stone unturned.

Updated calendar, necessary because of last week's delay:
(These early calendar renderings are poor quality. For that, I apologize. They get better!)

So, as you can see, I'll try to have the reviews for the Hercules Trilogy up tonight. We'll see. Maybe they'll have to wait til tomorrow morning. I don't know. Fuck it.

Xen. Sched. - Balls. Wall.

Real quick, before I start anything, here is a tentative viewing schedule for February. As you can see, it might take a good month to get through a whole two seasons, if you're among the employed. I have a feeling that I'll make it through more than three episodes on Saturdays and Sundays, but I just wanted to be safe. Also, if there are two-part (or even three-part) episodes that land on a weekday, I will watch both of those in one day as a special treat. I know myself and I won't be able to put off a "part 2" episode for a whole day. I'm too lazy right now to investigate when all the "two-parters" happen, so we'll leave the schedule like this for now.
(Sorry for the poor quality of these early calendar renderings. They do get better.)

I seriously doubt I'll be able to post the reviews for the Hercules episodes tonight, because I'm still trying to get this thing off its feet. Not only that, I just realized there are a couple more things I want to add to the episode review template. There's just so much to do. Plus, look what my mom sent me today:

Care packages from Texas; they've thrown a stick in my spokes. In a good way. We've already talked about Texan care packages, haven't we? I'll document these two, as I did with the last one, tomorrow.

In other news, on the way home, I acquired these necessities for tonight's viewing:

Do you think it's enough? I'm a little worried that it won't be. I'll try to pace myself. That's all we can ask of ourselves, isn't it? Besides, I'm sure one whole box of my dual Texan packages is nothing but candy.

Every Xena Episode, The Unveiling Of

I am so god damn tired... BUT

Pot o' Gold!
It is so. on.

First of all, this was in the mail when I got home tonight.

Plain, white, seemingly harmless, padded mailer.

I know what it is, you know what it is, we aaall know what it is..  ..It's this:

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (The Xena Trilogy:
The Warrior Princess/The Gauntlet/Unchained Heart)

After I opened the trilogy, I opened the box set.

Xena Box Set (Top)
Xena Box Set (Front)

Isn't it beautiful? I thought I wouldn't be able to handle it, but once I started unpacking everything, I realized it was my destiny. Easy as falling in love.

Right away, I love how the sets get thicker as the series gets older (just like the Harry Potter books, though I've never read those). I took pictures of every cover, which I'll now display.

Season 1

Season 2

Season 3

Season 4

Season 5

Season 6

These are mine. I own them. Who can wait to watch this shit? Certainly not me. I'll be starting tomorrow right after work, if I'm bodily able. Gotta make sure the template is ready and stuff. Hopefully I make it all the way through the trilogy tomorrow night. I gotta make a schedule, don't I? I do.

Every time I start a new season, I'll take detailed pictures of the DVD and the case. There are pictures scattered all up in this set that need to be seen.

As a bonus, LegendaryHeroes.com included this!

Xena 10th Anniversary Collection

Though I probably won't watch this anytime soon, I think it's kind of amazing. You should read about it here. It's cool, because it's like a greatest hits CD, but for Xena. It's a greatest hits DVD. Here's kind of a shitty picture of the back, in case you want to read it.

It's interesting reading the reviews about this collection on Amazon. Some disagree with the included episodes. This would be a great thing to keep in mind when watching the whole series.

I'm sure everyone's Xena's greatest hits list is different. I simply think it's wonderful that there was so much praise for the show that something like this was made. I mean, I've never seen a greatest hits for a TV show before. Not yet, anyway. It's kind of a good idea. You could, perhaps, loan this to someone who's never seen the show, is interested, but doesn't want to commit to watching the the whole thing.

Alright, well, I'm going to hit it. Tomorrow: schedule, template completion, trilogy pictures, watch the trilogy, fill out the templates. ...Probably won't be able to complete all of that, but a bitch can dream.
